We have experience in processing a wide range of materials such as Titanium, aluminium, stainless steel, brass and mild steel, Our 5 axis Water Jet also enables us to cut plastics, wood and carbon fibre. To support this PLP is accredited to AS9100 and Nadcap and we are also approved supplier to Rolls-Royce Aerospace, Bombardier Aerospace, GKN Aerospace and Rolls Royce motor Cars.
PLP can provide a fully equipped testing facility and GOM 3D inspection scanning for a detailed perspective of intricate components. Our in this key department at PLP, we also have CMM machines, shadow graphs and high powered microscopes.
The water jet we have at PLP is the currently the largest of its kind in any sub contract company in the UK with a capacity in both 2D and 5 axis. It is capable of handling components of up to 6000mm x 3000mm x 730mm high and can cut materials up to 250mm thick.
The machine is fitted with twin heads (2D & 5 axis) a drill unit and rotary axis capability. Our facility is fitted with a crane over the working area for easy and safe loading and unloading of large components to ensure we can undertake any project no matter how big or how small.
We benefit from having two 5 axis Co2 lasers and a team of CAD technicians waiting to process your enquiry. Our 7040 has twin bed technology enabling duel process capabilities and smart probe features for setting datum’s for fixtures and jigs.
Our 3D programming package along with IGES files helps us to generate almost any component whether it’s a one off piece or large batch quantities.
The high powered 5 axis lasers along with linear drives ensure a high speed production of panels, tanks and many other 3d components and with the added feature of the twin bed provide a nonstop production cycle.
We have at PLP leading technology in flat bed lasers offering a cutting area of 3000×1500 millimetres and 25mm thick in mild steel, 20mm in stainless and 12mm in aluminium. We can also process titanium up to 5mm thick for any Aerospace or automotive components.
Our flat bed lasers come with full automation loaders to cope with mass production capabilities and 24 hour operating to ensure we stay ahead of our lead times.
The YAG facility at PLP is the longest running section and is how the company was set up over 20 years ago. Starting with just one YAG laser PLP has grown into a multi function sub contract company with this department being at the top of our expertise.

With a team of fabrication engineers along with a range of equipment including pillar Drills, MIG and TIG welding capabilities and a trumpf press brake we can undertake a high level of secondary op work including drilling, tapping, and spot welding and bending of components. We also offer powder coating and electro plating. Our press brake is 3000mm x 120 tonne and comes with a wide range of tooling to suit every customers needs.
